Airline Meal Saga: A Banana for Business Class Passenger
Japan Airlines’ Bizarre Vegan Meal: A chopstick and banana for business class passenger!
As we take to the skies again, the in-flight meal experience becomes a hot topic of conversation amongst travelers.
Bizarre Vegan Meal for Business Class Passengers
But for a man named Kris Chari, business class passenger on a Japan Airlines (JAL) flight, the experience quickly turned to shock and confusion when they requested a vegan breakfast and were served a single banana with chopsticks.
The passenger had assumed the banana was just a small part of their meal, but soon realised it was the entire breakfast. The incident has sparked a debate about the challenges of catering to dietary restrictions on flights, and whether airlines need to do more to ensure their passengers are properly nourished.
Sharing their story on Flyertalk, the passenger expressed: “Before take-off today, my flight attendant confirmed that I ordered VGML (Vegetarian Vegan Meal) and that my breakfast was a banana, by which I mistakenly assumed she meant that breakfast included a banana.”
Are you a vegan traveler? Imagine ordering a vegan meal on a flight and being served only a banana with chopsticks. Would you be surprised, shocked or amused?
